Thanks!! to everyone who helped Paint the Poles! We filled all four shifts and managed to get all 69 poles done with just 30 minutes to spare! We’ll be finishing off the icons (stencils) over the next few weeks – a playful way of wayfinding all the great businesses and features of The Bend.
Special thanks to Dulux for donating the paint; Bunnings for donating the equipment; Scarboroough Beach Scouts and Doubleview Girl Guides; and the 100 or so great locals who generously donated their time!
Turn a deficit to a strength with a paint brush and just a couple of hours of your time!
Problem: Scarborough Beach Road’s beautiful double-views of City and Ocean are blighted by power lines…
Solution: We’re gonna paint them in the bright colours of our area!
This is a first in WA and set to become a unique and defining feature. We’ve done the planning and set the weekend of 2 and 3 November 2019 for the BIG PAINT!
We need you, your family, your neighbours – your cat and dog if they can hold a paint brush! – to help out. Sign up here:
Update 31/10/19: We’ve unfortunately had to cancel the Saturday morning (2 November) shift due to rain! Afternoon is going ahead. We’ve rescheduled the traffic management to morning of Saturday 23 November – Please sign up!
