Bend Photo competition 2024

The Bend Photo Comp 2024 – NEW EXTENDED DATE

We are pleased to announce the theme for The Bend Photo Comp 2024: 

Summer Vibes

Show us what summer on The Bend means to you. 

Open to all ages, photos could feature local people, culture, places, or a view from The Bend. 

Up to three photos can be submitted per person.

Important Dates and Times

  • Entries open 16 December 2023
  • Photo Workshop 18 February 2024
  • Competition Closes 4th March 2024 (NEW EXTENDED DATE) 
  • Winners announcement on the 24th March 2024 at Folk & Merchant

Prizes and judging 

  1. Overall Winner – $200 prize money
  2. Children, up to 12 years – $50 prize money    
  3. Youth, 13 to 25 years – $100 prize money
  4. Adult, 26 years and over – $150 prize money

A panel of three judges will select one winning entry from each category and winners will be announced on the 24th of March 2024.

Photography Workshop 

Join Award Winning photographers Janet Craig & Tony Hewitt 

  • Sunday 18 Feb, 2.00 – 4.00pm at Stirling Leisure Centre, Scarborough. (173 Gildercliffe Street)
  • Learn how create a winning photo + smartphone tips
  • Suitable for ages 10+, adults welcome
  • Registration is FREE.

Submission Guidelines

  • Photos celebrate people, culture, place or a view from The Bend. 
  • Photos must be taken on The Bend precinct,
  • Photos taken outside The Bend precinct will not be accepted.
  • Photos must be recent, taken within the last six months.  
  • Up to three photos can be submitted per person. 
  • Saved as high-quality JPEG, file size larger than 1mb, and less than 4mb.
  • Upload using the file name format: your last name and photograph title. 
  • If you are under 18 years of age you will need consent from a parent or guardian, to enter.
  • Photos need to be original, free from copyright and do not breach any persons’ rights of privacy.
